Age: 4 years old (Born October 22, 2018)
Breed: Miniature Poodle
Size: Approx. 12 lbs
Gender: Male
Adoption Status: Available for adoption
Must Haves: Fully fenced yard, snuggles, campfires

Personality: Kujo is a sweet, snuggly little dog who is maybe even, dare we say it ... needy? He wants his people to be right nearby, thank you very much! "Pick me up!" he says. He wants to be with them every chance he gets, day or night. If he's left out, he may show his disappointment by "singing" (aka howling). His fosters have taken him camping and he loves to sit by the campfire with them.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Kujo is doing well with his housetraining. He still has the occasional accident, but is really getting the hang of waiting to go outside.
Walks/leash training: Kujo has started his leash and walk training but it's still very new to him. He is doing great but he will need time to build trust and develop some basic obedience to help ensure his safety, should he go into "flight mode". This is a big risk for Kujo.
Children: Kujo has been around a baby since coming into rescue, but does not have physical contact with her. He is calm around her and very, very curious about the little human.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Kujo is doing well with the other dogs and cat in the house.

Best Home Environment:
Kujo needs a home with a secure fenced yard. This is non-negotiable as he is, and will always be, a flight risk.
Kujo needs a home that will commit to taking him for basic obedience training as this will support his confidence, his bond with his humans and build recall skills - all elements that are essential to keeping him safe and secure.
Kujo would love a home with cuddles, please. Like, lots of them. LOTS.
A note about secure fencing: While each dog is different in level of security we require the fence be of a height that a dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence) and that there are no gaps in fencing, gate is secure and the bottom of fencing has no gaps or where a dog could "dig out" from underneath.
A note about flight risk: flight risks can be caused by many things: fear, lack of "street wise" skills or incredible curiosity for the sights smells and sounds on the other side of a fence. All of these reasons could lead to a dog looking to break free of a leash or seek out gaps in fencing so they can move beyond a fence.
Health: Kujo is a clinically healthy dog
History: Kujo is an owner/breeder surrender.
Adoption Fee: Kujo's adoption fee is $450.
