Lola

Last Updated:  May 5, 2024

Date of Arrival:  April 24, 2024

Age:  Approx. 10 years old

Breed:  Pomeranian

Size:  9-10 lbs

Gender:  Female

Adoption Status:  Lola is not yet available for adoption

Personality:   Lola is a sweet, friendly girl, although she can be a bit shy around new people. She is quickly attaching herself to her foster, and once she started to feel comfortable, quickly decided that she loves the attention she gets from this new human.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Lola is learning many new things, including house training.

Walks/Leash Training:  Lola is learning many new things, including leash training.

Children:  TBD

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Lola is enjoying the company of the senior pup in her home. We think she would like being in a home with a calm and friendly dog that wouldn't mind sharing a bed at nap time. She is doing well with the cats in the home, once the excitement of meeting wore off. She even recently started snuggling with the kittens, allowing them to nestle into her tummy.

Best Home Environment:  TBD. Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Lola has not yet completed her vetting
