Last Updated: May 28, 2023
Date of Arrival: April 17, 2023
Age: Approx 5 years old
Breed: American Eskimo
Size: Approx. 20 lbs
Gender: Male
Adoption Status: We are accepting applications for Yeti
Must Haves: Regular brushing, daily walks, humans to spend the day with, the answer to whether or not cereal is a soup

Personality: Yeti is a gentle soul. He wants to be with his fosters as much as possible and follows them around so he doesn’t miss anything. He also loves looking out the window so he can keep an eye on the neighbourhood happenings. Yeti can follow some basic commands like sit and shake a paw. He enjoys being brushed, belly rubs, being brushed, attention, and being brushed. Yeti sleeps all night, either on the floor or on his dog bed; regardless of where he sleeps, he is quite certain that he needs to have a pillow to lean on. He likes bully sticks, treats, playing with toys, and zoomies! Yeti is a fantastic dog who just wants to be near his humans, and loves being loved on.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Yeti is housetrained and lets his fosters know when he needs to go out. He marked when he first came into the rescue but since being neutered, no longer shows this behaviour.

Walks/leash training: Yeti loves going for walks. He has shown some leash reactivity (barking and/or growling at other dogs when he is on a leash), but his fosters are working on this with him and he is improving.

Children: TBD
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Yeti plays well with other small dogs as long as he is not on a leash. He hasn't met larger dogs since coming into our care. Yeti is good with cats. We think he would enjoy having a dog sibling in his new home.
Best Home Environment: Yeti doesn't really enjoy being left home alone and will express this through whimpering, barking and sometimes howling. He has learned that he can work through it, calm down, and go to sleep. We would recommend a home with no shared walls, so that he doesn't disturb any neighbours, as he learns that he is okay and can wait for the humans to return. He is easily startled by loud noises and sudden movements. He would do best in a calm home, where the humans are around on a regular basis and/or have a consistent schedule. A fenced backyard would be ideal, as Yeti loves running free and doing zoomies.

Health: Yeti has completed his vetting and is a clinically healthy dog
History: Yeti was owner-abandoned. He, Spaghetti, and Pearl were left in a taped up cardboard box on someone's driveway on a rural property. He will know nothing but love from now on.
Adoption Fee: Yeti's adoption fee is $450.
