Eddy Bear

Last Updated:  August 19, 2024

Date of Arrival:  August 14, 2024

Age:  10-12 years

Breed:  Pomeranian

Size:  Approx. 6 lbs

Gender:  Male

Adoption Status:  Eddy Bear is not yet available for adoption

Personality:   We are just getting to know our newest little senior Eddy Bear, but so far he's a sweet little cuddle bug who would love to find a quiet retirement home.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Eddy is house trained, but may have some incontinence due to age.

Walks/Leash Training:  Eddy Bear has not been out on a walk in many years. He does not have a lot of muscle mass and likely has arthritis, so his new family will want to be mindful when introducing Eddy to gentle exercise and daily activity.

Children:  TBD

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Eddy has met some dogs since coming to us, and does well with them. We think he would be fine as an only dog or in a home with a gentle companion.

Best Home Environment:  We are looking for a quiet retirement home for our Eddy Bear. Preference will be given to a home where someone can be around most of the time, as this is what he has known for most of his life. Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Eddy has not yet completed his vetting.

History:  Eddy is an owner surrender. His elderly human was no longer able to give him the care he needed and had to make the difficult decision to rehome him. We thank her for entrusting Eddy to us.

Adoption Fee:  Eddy Bear's adoption fee is $400.

Please download our application and follow instructions to apply for any of our dogs in care.

Please note we do not review and process any applications until a dog is ready for adoption.

Due to the high volume of interest in our cupcakes dogs, we regretfully cannot provide personalized responses to applicants at this time. We also are not maintaining any adoptions waitlists. Please visit our FB page where we will provide updates on how our dogs are doing as often as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
