Frost

Last Updated:  September 30, 2024

Date of Arrival:  September 12, 2024

Age:  Approx. 4 months (Estimated DOB May 2024)

Breed:  Pomeranian

Size:  5 lbs (Estimated adult weight 8-10lbs)

Gender:  Female

Adoption Status:  We are accepting applications for Frost, with adoption pending her completed vetting.

Must Haves:  Belly rubs, grass to lie in, a doggie playmate

Personality:   Frost is a typical puppy! She loves to play with Louise, another Cupcake foster, and adores belly rubs. She likes to share her human's pillow at night. When people walk straight towards her, she can feel a bit intimidated - she is pretty small, after all. Gentle awareness of this will help her grow in confidence.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Frost is doing well with her house training. She does her business outside and will also use pee pads.

Walks/Leash Training:  Frost is just a puppy, so leash training is still a work in progress.

Children:  Frost is pretty small, so a home with kids would be fine, as long as they are dog-savvy.

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Frost loves having a doggie playmate in the home. She is learning to respect the resident cats' boundaries, and would be fine in a home with dog-savvy cats.

Best Home Environment:  TBD. Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Frost has not yet completed her vetting.

History:  Frost was an abandoned stray, picked up by Jenn's Furry Friends Rescue and transferred to Cupcakes. We thank Jenn for entrusting Frost to our care.

Adoption Fee:  Frost's adoption fee is $600.

Please download our application and follow instructions to apply for any of our dogs in care.

Please note we do not review and process any applications until a dog is ready for adoption.

Due to the high volume of interest in our cupcakes dogs, we regretfully cannot provide personalized responses to applicants at this time. We also are not maintaining any adoptions waitlists. Please visit our FB page where we will provide updates on how our dogs are doing as often as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
