Age: Approx. 2 yrs old
Breed: Pomeranian
Size: Approx. 6-7 lbs
Gender: Female
Must Haves: A red rubber ball, belly rubs!
Adoption Status: Adoption Pending
Personality: Louise is a petite, playful and cuddly gal. She absolutely loves her foster dad and loves following him around the yard. When her people come home, she can hardly contain herself with excitement. She LOVES to play and will lay on her back for a belly rub as soon as she sees you.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Louise is pee pad trained but will do her business outside when taken out on her walks.
Walks/Leash Training: Louise loves walks! She follows and listens to her people quite well but her little nose takes her off route at times. A secure harness will be a must.
Children: We believe Louise would do fine in a home with children as long as they are respectful of her size and space.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Louise is good with the other dog in her foster home and she would really benefit from a doggie sibling who wants to play with her. She is also doing great with her feline siblings.
Best Home Environment: Louise would do best in a home that is fairly active. She loves to play and would benefit from regular walks. She is quite tiny, so a gentle home is required. Priority may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.
Health: Louise has completed all of her vetting except her spay.
History: Louise is an owner surrender.
Adoption Fee: Louise's adoption fee is $425
