Date of Arrival: May 3, 2021
Age: Born Dec 15, 2012
Breed: Pomeranian/Bichon X
Size: 14.1 lbs
Adoption Status: We are not accepting applications at this time. When Megan is ready for adoption we will post a date and time when we will begin accepting applications.
Introduction: Beautiful sweet Megan is still abit camera shy and does not enjoy being handled so we are going slowly and she is acclimating very well.
Personality: Megan is timid and avoids contact however if you sit still and do not attempt to touch her, she will come to you and sniff you abit. Slowly we build trust with this gorgeous lady. Her rehabilitation time may take abit longer than for some dogs due to her fearful nature but she will be given the time she needs. Megan has nipped her fosters when she is cornered or contact is forced however she has also now allowed her foster mom to hold her once. Megan is doing better with females than males so far. When physical touch is not forced she is a very sweet gentle little lady but she is very fearful of physical contact with humans.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Megan is doing well on early learning of outdoor training
Walks/leash training: Megan does not like being handled and does not respond well to having the harness put on her but she is slowly learning and in time we are confident this will be something she will become adept at managing.
Children: We are not testing Megan with children at this time as she does not like being approached or handled and can nip if her boundaries are not respected.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Megan is in a foster home with two other dogs and doing well. By far her favourite "person" is the cat in her home. They spend time grooming one another and cuddling. Megan has shown through this that she really is a very gentle soul and just needs time to learn humans are just as awesome as her feline best friend.
Best Home Environment: Megan will need calm confident owners and no children. Will seek a home with a secure fenced yard that she can roam and will allow her outdoor time without forced human contact of being harnessed and on leash.
Health: Megan has started her health assessment and overall appears to be in good health but some exploration of blood work and skin assessment is still in progress. Her teeth are a grade two which means some tartar buildup and, when she is ready for contact with humans, she will benefit from regular home dental care and may in the next year or two need a dental cleaning via veterinary care.
History: Megan is an owner breeder surrender
Adoption Fee: When she is ready for adoption, her fee will be $400
