Date of Arrival: July 26, 2023
Age: 5 years old (Born June 16, 2018)
Breed: Pomeranian X
Size: Approx. 12 lbs
Gender: Female
Adoption Status: While we welcome applications, we will not begin processing any applications until we get to know Paisley better and we have completed her health care plan.

Personality: We are just getting to know Paisley and she is a joy! She is sweet and loving and adores cuddles. She hates baths but likes warm towels and rubs afterwards. She was a bit naughty trying to take everyone else's food at meal time and tried to bully another little dog a little bit, but she was quickly and easily corrected, and did so well with correction. At this point, Paisley needs to be kept separate from the other animals in the home during meal time.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Paisley is learning quickly to use pee pads and do her business outside!
Walks/leash training: Paisley has no experience with leash or walks but we will be providing first steps of training in this shortly. She did give us a good smile on her first attempt - she was pretty sure that wearing a harness meant her legs didn't work anymore. We will work with her on this.
Children: To be assessed
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Paisley has been fine with other dogs and cats. She did try to bully and push around another small dog at meal time, but responded very well to correction.
Best Home Environment:
A human willing to love her and adore her for the beautiful dog that she is.
A human who will make a lifetime commitment to being patient and actively engaging in training and teaching Paisley to help her be a trusting, confident, social little dog.
Paisley is a flight risk as she does not have any recall skills. Secure fencing and people who are diligent to ensure her safety is an absolute must.
A note about secure fencing: While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could "dig out" from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk: A flight risks can be the result of many things: fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of a fence. Any of these reasons could lead to a dog looking to break free of a leash or seek out gaps in fencing so they can move beyond the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enroll in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. The purpose in such participation is to build trust between human and dog, to help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills. These things are in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.
Health: To be assessed
History: Paisley is an owner/breeder surrender
Adoption Fee: When she is ready for adoption, Paisley's adoption fee will be $450
