Sterling

Last Updated:  March 9, 2025

Date of Arrival:  February 26, 2025

Age:  Approx. 3 years old

Breed:  Pomeranian X

Size:  15lbs

Gender:  Male

Adoption Status:  Sterling is not yet available for adoption

Personality:   We are still getting to know Sterling, but he's a sweet boy. He is partial to his foster mom, and has become her little shadow. He loves to follow her around and receive attention from her. Sterling is quite hesitant and shy around his foster dad, so his adopters will need to be patient and allow him time to become comfortable with men in his life.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Sterling is working on his housetraining. He will go outside, and is also using pee pads inside.

Walks/Leash Training:  Sterling is working on his leash training.

Children:  TBD

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Sterling is getting along well with both his canine and feline foster siblings.

Best Home Environment:  TBD. Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Sterling has not completed his vetting
