Last Updated:  August 17th, 2026

Date of Arrival:  July 21, 2026

Age:  12

Breed:  Pomeranian

Size:  18lbs right now but need to gain to get to about 22lbs.

Gender:  Male

Adoption Status:  Choco is available for adoption

Personality:  Choco is very sweet and gentle and loves other dogs. He has a big voice so won't be a good fit for anyone with shared walls. Choco is a guy who is always up for adventure and is so much fun to have around.

House training/Pee Pad Training:

Choco is housetrained

Walks/Leash Training:

Choco's foster describes him as a dream to walk. No pulling and will walk right beside you.

Children:

We think he would be good with kids as long as they're dog savvy and understand that sometimes he may need some space.

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:

He LOVES other dogs and would likely be just fine with dog-friendly cats.

Best Home Environment: Choco is such a fun, adventurous, lovely guy! That said, he also has a lovely—but sometimes loud—voice, and we don’t think a shared-wall neighbour would appreciate his commentary quite as much as we do, so we’re thinking a standalone home would be best for this guy!

Choco really thrives with other dogs around, so a home with a canine companion would be wonderful for him. He’d love someone who enjoys being outside, and going for walks and adventures (he particularly loves the beach!), but he doesn’t need a family that is constantly on the go.

When Choco feels overwhelmed or needs a little break, he likes to retreat under the kitchen table and will come back out when he’s ready. Although he’s an adventurous and social guy, he also appreciates having a safe, quiet space where he can decompress on his own terms. A family that understands this and is happy to give him that space when he needs it will see just how sweet, fun, and lovable this wonderful guy is.

Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Choco has completed his vetting.

History:  Choco is an owner surrender.

Adoption Fee:  0-12 months - $600 || 1-8 years - $500 || 9+ years - $400
