Breed: Chihuahua X

Personality: Cutie Pie is new to rescue and we are getting to know her. So far she loves being outside in the yard and is very sweet but very scared. At the moment she is spending quite a lot of time hiding as she decompresses and learns the world can be a fun and loving place. She will need more time to decompress to let her true personality shine through.
House training/Pee Pad Training: TBD
Walks/Leash Training: TBD
Children: TBD
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: She has been good with the other dogs she has met so far.

Best Home Environment: Cutie Pie will need a home that allows her the time, space and love needed to come out of her shell and learn what the good life is all about. She will absolutely need a fully fenced yard.
Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.
