Breed: American Eskimo/pom
Size: Approx. 11 pounds

Adoption Status: Adoption in process.

Personality: Duke is a friendly little boy. He loves to run and play with his active foster brother but is also fine to just chill with the older siblings! He's very sweet and loves to follow his foster mom everywhere.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Duke is housetrained but can have accidents when left in the home for long hours. We believe this is anxiety related.
Walks/Leash Training: Duke loves walks.
Children: Duke is good with children. He's a tiny boy, so children that will be respectful of his space.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Duke gets along well with his foster fur siblings. Cats and dogs. If he's not happy, he will give a gentle leave me alone!

Best Home Environment: Due to his anxiety a home where his people are home most of the day. He would like a home that has a balance of chill and play!
Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.
Health: Duke recently started medication for seizures. We are unsure of the cause of the seizures as his MRI was clear. However, the medication is working and he has not had any seizures since back with us.
History: Duke was adopted two years ago from us but was returned to us do to health concerns regarding Duke and change in lifestyle. We thank his adopters for getting Duke back to us from Montreal.
Adoption Fee: 0-12 months - $600 || 1-8 years - $500 || 9+ years - $400
