Last Updated:  April 12, 2026

Date of Arrival:  March 20, 2026

Age:  3

Breed:  Pomeranian

Size:  Approx 12lbs

Gender:  Male

Adoption Status:  We are accepting applications for Oreo

Personality:  Oreo is a real character. He sleeps on his back which is very sweet. He loves being outside and running around in his foster family's backyard. He is very snuggly with his chosen person but also has separation anxiety so would prefer to be with his person as much as possible - a real shadow dog. Oreo loves sleeping on the bed.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Oreo is working on his housetraining and is doing well. He is doing some marking which is not uncommon in new spaces. He is doing it less and less but in the meantime he is using a belly band.

Walks/Leash Training:  Oreo LOVES being outside and going for walks. He is showing some reactivity on the leash so we will keep practicing with him. At the moment walks during quiet times without others around is working for him.

Children:  Oreo is good with kids.

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Oreo is good with other dogs

Best Home Environment:  We are still getting to know Oreo but we are thinking that he would be best with an understanding and experienced family who can continue to help Oreo become his best self. He'd be ideal for someone who is often home and wants a best friend to be with them always. Because of his separation anxiety he should not be in any home with shared walls (ex: apartment).

Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Oreo is waiting for his vet appointment.

History:  Oreo is an owner surrender

Adoption Fee:  0-12 months - $600 || 1-8 years - $500 || 9+ years - $400
