Age: 2.5
Breed: Pomeranian
Size: Approx 6 lbs

Adoption Status: Adoption pending - we are not accepting applications

Personality:
Dixie is a sweet, cuddly little thing who loves her people. Her foster family says she is a tiny dog with "big dog energy." She has a voice and knows how to use it! She is still new to rescue so we will add more as we get to know her.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Dixie is pee pad trained and working on her housetraining.
Walks/Leash Training: TBD
Children: Older children preferred because of her size.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Dixie is good with other dogs.
Best Home Environment: TBD
Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health: Dixie's vet appointment is pending.
History: Dixie is an owner surrender
Adoption Fee: 0-12 months - $600 || 1-8 years - $500 || 9+ years - $400
