Last Updated:  February 23, 2026

Date of Arrival:  January 12th, 2026

Age:  4

Breed:  Pomeranian

Size:  Approx. 9lbs

Gender:  Female

Adoption Status:  Petunia is on medical hold.

Personality:  Petunia is incredibly sweet and a very easy going little gal. She loves to be near her people, follow them around, and going for car rides. She loves to be brushed and will drift off in relaxation. Take note though - Petunia likes an adventure and may look for opportunities to escape!

House training/Pee Pad Training: Petunia is house trained

Walks/Leash Training:  Petunia is healing from a broken leg so we have not been able to test her out on walks. We do not expect her to be a difficult walker.

Children:  Petunia is great with the children in her foster home.

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  She gets along well with other dogs.

Best Home Environment:  Petunia will make a great family dog! She loves the older children in her foster home. School drop offs and pick ups are fun! She likes having a quiet space of her own or would prefer a not very loud home environment. She will need doggy stairs to prevent her from having any more jumping accidents.

Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health:  Sweet little Petunia jumped off of a couch the day she came into rescue and hurt her leg so she is currently relaxing in her loving foster home as it heals. She will also need a spay before she will be ready for adoption.

History:  Petunia is an owner surrender

Adoption Fee:  0-12 months - $600 || 1-8 years - $500 || 9+ years - $400
