Buttons
Last Updated: September 25, 2026
Date of Arrival: September 19, 2026
Age: 1
Breed: Pomeranian
Size: Approx 5lbs
Gender: Male
Adoption Status: Buttons is not yet ready for adoption

Personality: Buttons is brand new to rescue and is still settling in to his foster home. He is a bit of a nervous guy at the moment but really wants to cuddle with the other dogs in the house. He will let his fosters hold him but is still needing some time to feel his best.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Buttons is working on his housetraining and is wearing a belly band right now to help with the process.
Walks/Leash Training: TBD
Children: Buttons has met a 2 year old and wasn't quite sure what to make if the situation. He didn't love the toy dumping situation, it made him feel a bit nervous. We will continue to update this section too as he decompresses and we get to know him.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Buttons likes other dogs very much.

Best Home Environment: We will continue to update as we get to know Buttons.
Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health: Buttons has a grade 1-2 heart murmur. It doesn't seem to slow him down and we are making sure he's all checked out by our vet team.
History: He is a breeder surrender.
Adoption Fee: 0-12 months - $600 || 1-8 years - $500 || 9+ years - $400
