Date of Arrival: December 11th, 2025
Age: 3
Breed: Mixed breed
Size: Approximately 20lbs
Gender: Female
Adoption Status: Piper is not yet ready for adoption

Personality: Piper is just starting to come out of her shell and becoming more relaxed with her foster family. She is starting to lover her pats and following her people around the home! She is very well behaved and sweet. She has lots of energy but settles very quickly.
We expect she may be a little timid and she transitions into her forever home.
House training/Pee Pad Training: Piper is housetrained. She goes to the door when she wants out or if you ask her. She waits patiently to be let out.
Walks/Leash Training: TBD
Children: TBD
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: She is currently in a home with other dogs with no issues and is slowly making friends with the resident cat.
Best Home Environment: She likes running around the backyard, so we will be seeking a home with a fully secure, fenced yard. She also likes sleeping in bed with her family.
Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.
