Personality:  Ricky is possibly the sweetest dog in the history of the world. He is so cuddly, wiggly and friendly to all people and dogs. He loves to cuddle, do school drop off, help with bedtime and play, play, play!! He is a pure love bug.

House training/Pee Pad Training:  Ricky has never lived inside so he is just starting to learn about housetraining. He's doing a great job, and we think it will get better after he is neutered.

Walks/Leash Training:  Ricky is great on a leash. He loves walks and going for runs too!

Children:  He is amazing with kids and loves them.

Dogs, Cats and Other Friends:  Ricky is a really fun dog and loves to play with other dogs. He has no aggression whatsoever, but he may try to steal their food if the other dog doesn't get to it fast enough.

Best Home Environment:  Ricky would be a good fit for anyone who wants a little buddy to be with them wherever they go. Potential adopters will understand that he's going to need to continue to work on refining his housetraining and manners, but he is an incredibly sweet, friendly and well-socialized companion. His forever family will be SO lucky to have him.

Preference may be given to a home with a securely fenced yard.

A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.

A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.

We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.
