Date of Arrival: November 1, 2025
Age: Approx. 2 years
Breed: Pomeranian
Size: 9 lbs
Gender: Female
Adoption Status: Rosie is not yet available for adoption

Personality: Velcro dog, anyone? Rosie loves to be close to her people. The closer the better, ideally on top of her people. She is a real sweetheart, loves to play, and has started learning a few tricks.
House training/Pee Pad Training: House training is new to Rosie, but she has caught on quickly! Potential adopters should be aware that she may temporarily regress after moving, because it's still a new concept for her.
Walks/Leash Training: Rosie is working on her leash training. She is a bit fearful on walks/outdoors, so potential adopters will want to take the time to help her grow in confidence.
Children: We have not seen Rosie with children, but we expect she would do well with older, dog savvy kids.
Dogs, Cats and Other Friends: Rosie has met a few dogs, and while she needs to work on her social skills a little bit, she likes to be with other dogs.

Best Home Environment: Rosie loves her people, but is able to settle well when left alone for a few hours. She can be somewhat unsure about visitors coming into the home and will express this by barking at them for several minutes. This behaviour may dissipate as she grows in confidence, and, as with all our dogs, we recommend taking a basic obedience course when bringing her into the home, where you and Rosie can learn skills that will also help her feel more comfortable.
As Rosie is a bit of a fear-flight risk outside, she will require a home with a securely fenced yard. She is quite athletic and can easily clear a baby gate.
A note about secure fencing - While each dog is different in the level of security needed, we require the fence be of a height that the dog could not jump over (some of our dogs can easily scale a 5 foot fence), no gaps in fencing, gate is secure, and the bottom of the fence is also free from gaps or areas where a dog could dig out from underneath.
A note about being a flight risk - Flight risk can be the result of many things, including fear, lack of "street-wise" skills, or incredible curiosity for the sights, smells, and sounds on the other side of the fence. Any of these reasons could lead to the dog attempting to break free of their leash or seek out gaps so they can move past the fence.
We strongly encourage adopters to enrol in a basic obedience course with the dog they adopt. Participating in an obedience course can help build trust between human and dog, help the dog gain confidence and social interaction skills, and build strong recall skills, in addition to the on and off leash skills that basic obedience training can provide.

Health: Rosie has not yet completed her vetting.
History: Rosie came to us through Manitoba Underdogs Rescue. We are grateful to them for entrusting Rosie to our care.
Adoption Fee: Rosie's adoption fee is $500
